This guide is going to walk you through the process of what a boudoir shoot is and how the process works over here at ASB. I am excited to get you in the studio! Once you read through this guide, you'll be able to schedule your free phone consultation and book your session over the phone with us!

MEET THE ARTIST
Hey gorgeous! I’m April, your official hype girl and self-love therapist. For almost five years, I’ve dedicated myself to full-time boudoir photography, advocating for body positivity and female empowerment. As a mama of three amazing kids, wife to a loving husband, and fur mama to two playful dogs, my life is a beautiful, chaotic adventure. Boudoir photography isn’t just my job; it’s my calling. Every person, regardless of shape, size, ethnicity, or life story, deserves to experience the empowering magic of boudoir.
Growing up, I absorbed the self-criticisms of the women around me, but motherhood made me realize the importance of breaking that cycle. I found immense power in celebrating my body, every scar, curve, and stretch mark telling a chapter of my story. My mission is to create a safe, nurturing space where you can celebrate your unique beauty. From brides preparing for the most intimate parts of life to mothers navigating their identity, and divorcées embracing new chapters, I’m here to help you see yourself through a lens of love and confidence.
So, let’s throw away the insecurities and celebrate the powerful, beautiful human that you are. You deserve to love the fuck out of yourself, and I’m here to help you see just how amazing you truly are.

WHAT IS BOUDOIR?
Boudoir technically is a French word which means 'a woman's dressing room or bedroom', but we like to think of it as just a fancy word for women's intimate portraiture. Boudoir is NOT pornographic. Boudoir can be fun, flirty, beautiful, cute, sexy, feminine, intimate, candid, posed, or really anything else you want it to be.

we believe that boudoir is the best gift you can give YOURSELF, to capture your essence as you are now. When you need a reminder of the strong, beautiful woman that you are, you will have a collection of amazing portraits to look upon. we love it when women come to us for themselves. The images we create together will boost your self esteem and your confidence, and that should be celebrated by YOU! It will help you reclaim your femininity, your sexuality, two things that are often lost as we get consumed with our lives, our jobs, our families. we'll let you in on a little secret.... all the women on our website believed they didn't look like the women on our website! Crazy right? Because here you see them being so fierce and so confident. But we can assure you that they were just as nervous and full of self doubt as you are. They all showed up, put their trust in us, and let APRIL coach them through the whole day.
There is no such thing as the perfect body. You are never too big, too small, too old, too young (well, I only accept boudoir clients who are 19+) to do a boudoir session. Boudoir is for everyBODY. Let us show you.

CAN YOU MAKE ME LOOK THINNER?
we want to help you feel beautiful now, just the way you are. We flatter you with hair and makeup styling, a wardrobe that compliments your figure, and amazing lighting and posing techniques to highlight your best ass-sets (see what I did there?). I do not believe in heavy photoshopping. Don't get me wrong, we will gladly remove all of your bruises and pimples, but we don't want to over manipulate your body to make you look like someone you are not. We already live in a time where we are consumed with unrealistic bodies in the media, I want to show you that you are beautiful at this very moment.
DO YOU OFFER HAIR AND MAKEUP?
HELL-TO-THE-YES, GIRL! NO BOUDOIR SESSION IS COMPLETE WITHOUT A BOMB, PHOTO-READY FINISH. I ONLY HIRE THE VERY BEST TALENT IN OUR AREA TO SERVE OUR CLIENTS WITH TOP LEVEL HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTISTRY.
MANY OF OUR CLIENTS TELL US THEY RARELY WEAR MAKEUP, AND/OR THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO APPLY MAKEUP FOR THE CAMERA. IF THIS IS YOU, THEN HAVE NO FEAR... WE ARE GOING TO TAKE GREAT CARE OF YOU AND GET YOU THE MAKEUP LOOK THAT SUITS YOU AND YOUR PERSONALITY BEST.

full disclosure... if you are looking for a quick roll around the bed and a handful of digitals sent to your email, we can help to accommodate that. But the truth is, our clients are here for a full day experience and want all day with APRIL and the TEAM. all of the staff here invest a significant amount of our time into each of our clients to ensure that you have the most successful and custom tailored boudoir experience.
the process may seem overwhelming to some, but it is a true exploration of you as a woman. from self esteem, to sexual interests (i.e. whips and chains, anyone?), to learning to love your body at the size that it is.
luckily for you, you've found us! working with women in boudoir is all we do. you are in good hands with us and we'll make sure that you don't miss a single step.

WHAT WILL I WEAR?
We're thrilled to offer our exclusive client closet, stocked with stunning pieces in sizes XS-6X to make you feel like a bombshell during your session. No need to stress about what to wear—we’ve got you covered!
Most sessions include 2-3 outfits, and our client closet provides a variety of options to help you find the perfect look. However, we love when clients bring their own unique pieces, too. Combining your favorites with selections from our closet adds a personal touch that’s uniquely you. Our policy is always, "when in doubt, bring it!" We'll review everything together and decide what flatters you most.
For our booked clients we also have another guide that will instruct you on where to shop! We know the world of lingerie can be overwhelming so we do our very best to take as much stress off of you as possible. It gives you direct links to all of our favorite lingerie retailers, their price points, and what we love about them.
I NEED MY IMAGES BY XX DATE, WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
Our studio books up 3-4 months in advance and our printed products can take up to 8 weeks for delivery. If you have a special occasion coming up or wish to book a holiday appointment, we recommend booking 4-6 months in advance of that date. ALWAYS REACH OUT TO INQUIRE ABOUT A NEARBY DATE IN CASE WE HAVE A LAST MINUTE OPENING!
CAN MY SPOUSE/FRIEND COME TO MY SESSION OR ORDERING APPOINTMENT?
we do allow one person to accompany you during hair and makeup, but after that our services are best delivered in a 1-on-1 atmosphere with your complete undivided attention.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO SPEND AT MY REVEAL & ORDERING APPOINTMENT?
Before we have created your images, it is hard for me to give you an exact figure as to what to expect. Some women come to me and just get a basic album, others come to me and want it all and invest several thousand on a variety of products. OUR MINIMUM PURCHASE POINT IS $899, BUT AFTER THAT what you spend is entirely up to you.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET PRINTS BACK?
DIGITAL IMAGES WILL BE DELIVERED WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF YOUR REVEAL. FROM THERE, DEPENDING ON WHAT YOU PRODUCTS YOU PURCHASED, IT CAN TAKE UP TO 6-8 WEEKS FOR THE ALBUM TO BE SHIPPED TO YOU FROM OUR LAB.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BOOK?
The Session Fee is $500 and 50% is required to reserve a space on our calendar. The remainder will be charged to the card on file 30 days later, or you may request to have it added to a payment plan SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO DO SO. WE DO REQUIRE PAYMENT PLANS FOR ALL CLIENTS ON OUR MINIMUM PACKAGE.

most of our clients come to us for an album. we offer albums from basic to boujee... we've got a style to suit every babe. however, we sell all kinds of things for you to choose from.
we'll help you determine how many images you want, what products appeal to you the best, and how much you want to spend. SOME WOMEN COME TO ME AND JUST GET A BASIC ALBUM, OTHERS COME TO ME AND WANT IT ALL AND INVEST SEVERAL THOUSAND ON A VARIETY OF PRODUCTS.

for some of our clients, the boudoir experience can be an investment that is worth careful consideration. for this reason we have created financing options that makes buying what you love a lot more accessible.

FOR CLIENTS LOOKING TO HAVE THEIR SESSION SOONER OR NEED MORE TIME TO PAY, AFFIRM ALLOWS YOU TO PAY OVER TIME WITH FLEXIBLE PAYMENT OPTIONS. YOU'LL APPLY FOR A VIRTUAL CREDIT CARD THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO SHOP SPECIFICALLY WITH US.
YOU'LL GET AN IMMEDIATE DECISION AND A PRE-APPROVAL AMOUNT WITHOUT A HARD INQUIRY ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT. THIS OPTION IS BASED ON CREDIT APPROVAL, AND WE DO NOT HAVE ANY SAY IN WHO IS APPROVED FOR FINANCING.
WE OFFER AN IN-HOUSE PAYMENT PLAN LEADING UP TO YOUR SESSION. YOU CAN CHOOSE WEEKLY, BI-WEEKLY, OR MONTHLY PAYMENTS THROUGH OUR SECURE, AUTOMATIC PAYMENT SYSTEM.
ALL PRODUCTS MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT LEAST 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR SESSION. A CREDIT CARD IS REQUIRED TO BE KEPT ON FILE, AND A SIGNED CONTRACT IS NECESSARY. NO CREDIT CHECK NEEDED.
DO I HAVE TO TALK ON THE PHONE TO BOOK MY SESSION?
A: yes! we do not offer online bookings for a very specific reason: the boudoir experience is an intimate one. we believe you should have the opportunity to meet and speak with studio staff prior to arriving for your session.
we offer a custom tailored experience for each of our clients and that process starts during your phone call with US. WE WIll collect some information to create your client account and get you access to the client portal where you'll find more resources to ensure a successful boudoir experience.
WE will help you choose a date for your session based on our availability and any celebration dates you may be considering the occasion for.
